Il Divergenti Festival internazionale di cinema Trans è una rassegna che dal 2007 raccoglie documenti inediti e originali provenienti da diversi paesi del mondo sulla tematica transessuale. Il Festival è ilprimo e unico festival cinematografico in Italia e tra i pochi in tutto il mondo dedicato specificamente al tema del transessualismo/ transgenderismo.

E' progettato e realizzato dal MIT (Movimento di Identità Transessuale) Associazione ONLUS, attivo in Italia nella difesa dei diritti delle persone transessuali. Negli anni si è incentrato su diverse tematiche approfondite poi, oltre che attraverso la proiezione di film e documentari, anche attraverso workshop, mostre fotografiche e spettacoli con ospiti anche internazionali.

Il cinema, attraverso documentari e fiction, riesce molto meglio di altre forme comunicative, a far emergere la realtà dell’esperienza transessuale, a metterne in luce tratti e peculiarità, gli aspetti problematici insieme alle sue molteplici sfaccettature. Il cinema è informazione, comunicazione e formazione allo stesso tempo, su una realtà troppo spesso oggetto di facili stereotipi e luoghi comuni. E’ il tentativo di riprendere una narrazione, fino ad ora distorta, per riportarla nella logica di un’esperienza umana significativa qual è il transessualismo. Il Festival intende per questo incentivare, promuovere e dare ampia visibilità alla produzione artistica e culturale sulla questione Transessuale/Transgender, stimolo per una conoscenza di essa corretta e approfondita, scevra dai facili stereotipi che nel tempo gli sono stati cuciti addosso e incentrata invece sulla presa di parola e sul protagonismo delle soggettività trans.

Confermando la sua vocazione internazionale, l’evento propone la proiezione di film, documentari e fiction provenienti da tutto il mondo.

Quest'anno il festival, giunto ormai alla sua ottava edizione, si terrà presso il Cinema Lumiere di Bologna nei giorni 22 e 23 Maggio con una programmazione che verrà a delinearsi nei prossimi mesi, anche in base alle vostre donazioni, ma sempre e comunque con l'assoluta pretesa di mantenere un'offerta culturale qualitativamente elevata, in linea con le precedenti edizioni del festival.

Durante il Festival ogni donatore verrà ringraziato nominalmente da parte dell'associazione.

The Divergenti International Trans Film Festival is a review that from 2007 collects original and unpublished documents from various countries of all over the world about the transsexual topic. The Festival is the first and only film festival in Italy and one of the few in the world specifically dedicated to the subject of transsexuality / transgenderism.

Divergenti Film Festival is planned and created by MIT (Transsexual Identity Movement) Association ONLUS, active in Italy in defense of the rights of transsexual people. Through years we have focused on various matters explored through the screening of films and documentaries, as well as through workshops, exhibitions and shows with national and international guests.

Cinema, through documentaries and fiction, is much better than other forms of communication to bring out the reality of the transsexual experience, to bring to light points of view and peculiarities, problematic aspects along with its multiple faces .Cinema is information, communication and education at the same time, about a reality that is too often related to easy stereotypes and clichés. This is an attempt is to resume a story until now distorted, to bring it back to the significant human experience that transsexualism is. The Festival aims to encourage, promote and give visibility to the artistic and cultural production about the Transsexual / Transgender topic, stimulus for a proper and deeper knowledge of it, free from easy stereotypes that over time have been sewn over it and focused on the newfound leadership and taken floor of trans subjectivity.

Confirming its international vocation, the event offers projection of films, documentaries and tv series from all over the world.

This year the festival, now in its eighth edition, will be held at the Cinema Lumiere in Bologna on May 22nd and 23rd with a program that will be set in the coming months, also according to your donations, but always with the absolute claim to keep an high quality of cultural offer, at the same level of the previous editions of the festival.

During the Festival each donor will be thanked nominally by the association.
