_Chi siamo

Siamo persone che salvano persone.
Persone stanche di restare ferme e zitte davanti alle migliaia di vittime e di persone abusate nel Mar Mediterraneo e sulle frontiere di terra europee. 

Proprio come te.

Siamo la nave della società civile, un sogno nato da un piccolo gruppo di persone comuni. 
Un progetto cresciuto negli anni grazie a migliaia di cittadine e cittadini e tante associazioni, aziende, e fondazioni che hanno deciso di salire a bordo per salvare vite e salvaguardare i diritti di tutti.

_Cosa è stato fatto

Nel Mediterraneo solo nel 2024 considerando le rotte orientale ed occidentale, l'IOM (International Organization for Migration) ha documentato 2.279 vittime o dispersi nel viaggio verso l'Europa.

Negli ultimi dieci anni sono morte 31.184 persone.

Nel 2024, le Ong hanno salvato 12.000 migranti su 66.617 sbarcati in Italia (pari al 18%).

Su Trieste, da maggio 2023, siamo presenti ogni giorno con almeno due volontari e volontarie, incontrando e dando sostegno a migliaia di persone provate da un viaggio che talvolta può durare anni…

_Cosa facciamo

Andiamo per mare con la nostra nave di soccorso che è di tutte le persone che ci hanno sostenuto e ci sostengono, la ResQ People. È salpata per la prima volta il 7 agosto 2021 ed è tornata dall'ultima missione nel Mediterraneo Centrale con 46 vite salvate il 7 di gennaio 2025.

Andiamo anche per terra. Dal 2023 siamo impegnati sulla frontiera di Trieste, per prestare assistenza a chi arriva dalla rotta balcanica. Un'esigenza nata dal basso, dalle richieste dei nostri volontari e volontarie che hanno espresso il desiderio di poter fare di più e mettersi in gioco in prima persona, andando incontro a chi ha perso tutto.

E andiamo nelle scuole. Con i nostri racconti, con i racconti delle persone salvate, con le parole di chi ha prestato soccorso sulla nave e sul confine di terra. Sono più di diecimila gli studenti incontrati dalle scuole elementari alle superiori. E poi incontri con enti, università e associazioni.

_Cosa puoi fare tu?

La miglior azione che puoi fare in questo momento è agire. 
Agire facendo una donazione e chiedendo ad altri di farla.

50€ → 1 kit di sopravvivenza (coperte termiche, cibo, acqua)

_Obiettivi della campagna

Raccogliere almeno 500.000 euro. Ma ce ne servirebbe quasi un milione. 
Si, siamo ambiziosi. Salvare le vite in mare costa, costa tantissimo. 

Ogni missione di un mese in mare costa circa 150.000 euro. Se vogliamo effettuare operazioni di soccorso in mare in modo continuativo ecco, che la cifra si avvicina a quel milione. 
Sono costi per il personale di bordo. I marinai, il comandante, i tecnici vanno pagati. Il gasolio va messo. I costi di quando si arriva in un porto. La nave va approvvigionata di tutto ciò che può servire in mare durante un salvataggio, dall'equipaggiamento tecnico per i soccorritori, alle scorte di cibo e acqua, ai medicinali per l'ospedale di bordo. E poi abiti, scarpe e coperte per i naufraghi e un kit di prima assistenza da consegnare loro nel momento in cui arriveranno sulla terra ferma.

Se spendo un milione di euro per salvare una vita umana, è il milione di euro meglio speso di un'intera vita.

Ma non vogliamo solo sostegno economico. Vogliamo diffondere consapevolezza sull’emergenza umanitaria e sull’importanza di un’azione concreta per salvare vite nel Mediterraneo.

ResQ. People Saving People | Every life counts

_Who we are

We are people saving people. 

People who are tired of standing still and keeping quiet in front of the thousands of victims and abused people in the Mediterranean Sea and on European land borders. 

Just like you.

We are the ship of civil society, a dream born from a small group of ordinary people. A project that has grown over the years thanks to thousands of citizens and many associations, companies, and foundations that have decided to get on board to save lives and safeguard the rights of all.

_What has been done

In the Mediterranean in 2024 only, considering the eastern and western routes, the IOM (International Organization for Migration) documented 2,279 people dead or missing on the journey to Europe.

In the last ten years, 31,184 people have died.

In 2024, NGOs rescued 12,000 migrants out of 66,617 landed in Italy (18%).

In Trieste, since May 2023, we are present every day with at least two volunteers, meeting and supporting thousands of migrant people tried by a journey that can sometimes take years...

_What we do

We are at sea aboard the ResQ People, our rescue ship, that belongs to all the people who have supported and are supporting us. She first set sail on August 7, 2021 and returned from her last mission in the Central Mediterranean with 46 lives saved, on January 7, 2025.

We are also present on land. Since 2023 we have been engaged on the Trieste border, providing assistance to those arriving from the Balkan route. A need that came from the grassroots, from the requests of our who expressed the desire to be able to do more and get involved themselves, going out to meet those who have lost everything.

And we are also present in schools. With our stories, with the stories of the people rescued, with the words of those who gave aid on the ship and on the land border. We have met more than ten thousand students, from elementary to high schools. We also organize events with institutions, universities and associations.

_What can you do?

_Campaign goals

Our goal is to raise at least 500,000 euros. But we would need almost a million. 
Yes, we are ambitious. Saving lives at sea has a price, and it costs a lot.

Each month-long mission at sea costs about 150,000 euros. If we want to carry out rescue operations at sea on a regular basis, that figure gets closer to a million. There are costs for the crew. The sailors, the captain, the technicians need to be paid. Diesel fuel has to be put in. The costs of getting to a port. The ship has to be stocked with everything you might need at sea during a rescue, from technical equipment for the rescuers, to food and water supplies, to medicines for the hospital on board. And then clothes, shoes and blankets for the shipwrecked and a first aid kit to be delivered to them the moment they arrive on land.

If you spend a million euros to save a human life, that's the best spent million euros of an entire life.

But we don't just want financial support. We want to spread awareness about the humanitarian emergency and the importance of concrete action to save lives in the Mediterranean.
