PERCHÉ SONO NATE LE CAROVANE SALVACIBO?

Le Carovane Salavacibo sono nate durante l'emergenza Covid per evitare che migliaia di chili ortofrutta fossero sprecati proprio mentre molte persone non hanno accesso al cibo.

IL PROGETTO CONTINUERÀ?

Noi stiamo investendo i risparmi dell'associazione e partecipando a nuovi bandi, nel frattempo continuiamo dipende anche a te.
Siamo partiti spinti dall'emergenza perchè non potevamo rimanere fermi davanti ad un tale spreco di risorse, ora che è giunto il momento della nuova normalità NON VOGLIAMO SPEGNERE IL MOTORE DI QUESTO PROGETTO, ma purtroppo i furgoni non vanno ad ortofrutta e i collaboratori non possono vivere di solo pane ( recuperato), per questo ora abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto economico.

IN QUALI CITTÀ É ATTIVO IL PROGETTO ?

Il progetto è attivio, con 2 modalità diverse, a Torino e Milano.

La prima, nata anche per sopperire al mancato recupero al mercato di Porta Palazzo, ha preso il via 2 mesi fa sotto la Mole con il duplice scopo di aiutare chi è attivo nel sostegno alimentare ed evitare che molta ortofrutta, con la sua relativa impronta ambientale, fosse sprecata.

Prima il Centro Agro Alimentare Torino (CAAT) e Battaglio Frutta hanno aperto le porte dei loro centri alla nostra Carovana.
Poi alcune realtà torinesi hanno prestato i furgoni per il trasporto "portone a portone" a più di 35 gruppi formali ed informali della città.
L'azione si svolge quotidianamente.

Dopo poche settimane il progetto è approdato all' Ortomercato Milano. L'azione di Eco dalle Città si è sviluppata, con cadenza bisettimanale, in particolar modo nel Municipio 6 dove, in collaborazione con Comunità Nuova, era già attivo il progetto Salvacibo e Antispreco.
Allo stesso tempo stiamo collaborando con associazioni, parrocchie e comitati spontanei del capoluogo lombardo già impegnate in questo tipo di attività.

Il progetto, infatti, è aperto alle collaborazioni: se avete mezzi da mettere a disposizione, o se avete bisogno di ortofrutta, potete contattarci via messaggio privato.

WHY THE CAROVANE SALVACIBO WERE BORN?

The Carovane Salvacibo (Carovans Safe Food) were born during the Covid emergency. They were created to avoid that thousands of kilos of friuts and vegetables were going to be wasted meanwhile many people did not have access to basic food provision.  

WILL THE PROJECT CONTINUE?

We are investing saving of the association and participating on new call for application, meantime we continue to depend also on you.
We started pushed by the emergency because we could not wait and stand in from of such a waste of resources. Now that the new normality has come, we do not what to switch off the motor of this project. Unfortunatelly, vans are not running out of fresh food and collaborators cannot eat only bread (rescued bread). Because of that now we need you help and support.

IN WHICH CITIES IS THE PROJECT ACTIVE?

The project is active with two diverse modalities in Torino and Milano.

The first was born also in support of the open air market of Porta Palazzo. It started on the first week of April 2020 with the double scope of helping the people in need of food support and avoiding that tons of fresh food were wasted – with clear environmental consequences.

At first the Centro Agro Alimentare Torino (CAAT) and Battaglio Frutta opened their doors to their centers at the project. Secondly, some associations of Torino lent their vans for the transport to more than 35 realities around the city.
The project takes place on a daily base.

After few weeks the project sterted also in Ortomercato Milano. The action of Eco dalle Città developed, based every two weeks, and in specifically under the Municipio 6, with the collaboration of Comunità Nuova, it was already active under the project Salvacibo&Antipreco (Safe Food & Against Waste).

At the same time we are collaborating with associations, churches local committees of Milano already engaged in this sort of activity.The project is open to collaborations: if you have facilities or if you need fruit and vegetables, you can contact through private message.
