Kascina Autogestita Popolare Angelica “Cocca” Casile

Siamo un gruppo di ragazzi compresi tra i 19 e i 33 anni di età, alcuni studenti, altri lavoratori e altri ancora disoccupati o con un lavoro precario. Alcuni di noi vengono da percorsi politici differenti, altri si trovano per la prima volta a trattare temi politici. Non siamo collegati a nessun partito, sindacato, comitato od associazione, per questo l'appellativo di Collettivo “Autonomo”. Siamo riconducibili ad un pensiero politico in cui ogni membro esprime i propri ideali all'insegna del rispetto reciproco, fermamente convinti/e nelle capacità e potenzialità dell'autogestione, consci del fatto che la libertà del singolo finisce dove comincia quella altrui; centrale è l’approfondimento di tematiche quali l’antirazzismo, antisessismo e antifascismo.
La nascita di Cascina Ponchia è stimata attorno agli inizi del 1900. Attualmente lo stabile è di proprietà comunale, e fino al 2003 è stato un convento di suore, altri mezzi progetti hanno cercato i natali, ma sono stati spostati o mai partiti. Successivamente l'amministrazione comunale ha deciso di inserire Cascina Ponchia nel piano di alienazioni dei beni comunali, mettendo all'asta per ben due volte lo stabile, tentativo andato a vuoto.
Il 13 dicembre 2013 lo stabile viene occupato dal Kollettivo Autonomo Popolare, ed il 10 febbraio 2014 viene presentato ed approvato in consiglio comunale lo sgombero e la successiva messa all'asta dello stabile. Nell’ottobre 2015, grazie al nostro operato politico, Cascina Ponchia viene tolta dal piano delle alienazioni e destinata ad uso sociale.

Adesso la Cascina si trova in difficoltà: oltre all’ordinanza di sgombero ancora pendente, i lavori apportati dal Collettivo alla struttura hanno bisogno di sostegno, in modo da garantire un futuro alle diverse attività.

Campagna: “Un Tetto per la Kascina!”

La Cascina costituisce una pre-esistenza edilizia di matrice rurale, con un certo pregio architettonico rilevabile in alcuni particolari, tra cui la presenza di affreschi nella facciata, la finestra ad arco ed i solai a volta presenti in alcuni ambienti al piano terra.
La struttura è sviluppata su tre piani: i primi due sono completamente utilizzati per tutte le attività del Collettivo, così come anche il giardino, per un'area complessivamente quantificabile in700 mq. Tutto il secondo piano invece non viene utilizzato e ne viene impedito l'accesso per deficit strutturali.
In questi cinque anni si è reso necessario ristrutturare l'edificio con diversi lavori sulla struttura della Kascina, per poterla utilizzare dopo anni di abbandono e incuria.
L'edificio ha quasi un secolo di storia alle spalle, ma purtroppo negli ultimi tempi un grosso problema potrebbe compromettere le attività del Kollettivo: il tetto! Nonostante i nostri interventi, ora dobbiamo affrontare grossi lavori di ristrutturazione causati da un grande buco, il quale crea infiltrazioni con conseguenti problemi strutturali.
I lavori, svolti e totalmente finanziati dal Collettivo, sono stati:

• ristrutturazione ed agibilità di tutti i tre servizi sanitari dell'immobile;

• sostituzione degli infissi di vetro rotti con pannelli di legno;

• riallacciamento della corrente elettrica tramite regolare contratto;

• ripristino di 2 stufe a legna ed acquisto di stufe a gas per il resto dei locali;

• perizia sulle condizioni del tetto;

• pulizia e potature delle aree verdi, con aggiunta di un albero;

• collocazione di boiler per l'acqua calda;

• Imbiancatura dei locali e decorazione delle pareti da parte di diversi artisti affermati, che hanno apposto graffiti di vario genere

Progettualità politica e incontri culturali

Il cuore delle attività del Collettivo all’interno e all’esterno della Cascina è la produzione di iniziative politiche, spesso intrecciate con un percorso culturale e sociale. La nostra riflessione ed il nostro agire politico valorizzano percorsi che producono reale autodeterminazione, sia per i singoli che per la collettività; imprescindibile è l’uguaglianza, la redistribuzione del valore e l’assenza di subordinazione.

L’orizzonte è la trasformazione politica, culturale e sociale del reale, in chiara opposizione a chi semina odio, discriminazione e violenza. All’interno della struttura organizziamo presentazioni di libri/documentari/mostre a cui leghiamo dibattiti ed approfondimenti; all’esterno costruiamo rete sociale con il quartiere ed altri soggetti cittadini e non, al fine di portare le iniziative citate in luoghi altri, organizzando momenti aggregativi, presidi e manifestazioni politiche.

Ospitiamo inoltre in modo continuativo l’assemblea del Collettivo Underground, in quanto fermamente convinti che lasciare spazi ad altre esperienze diverse dalla nostra  possa aiutare a crescere e maturare, restituendo autonomia; saltuariamente ospitiamo assemblee cittadine o di altri progetti come Bergamo Antifa United (squadra di calcio popolare), APE bergamo (associazione escursionistica), Brigate Solidarietà Attiva (rete di mutualismo), Progetto 20K (sostegno al transito delle persone migranti), CSA Pacì Paciana e Bergamo Migrante Antirazzista. Teniamo a sottolineare che solamente aver riaperto uno spazioabbandonato è un forte gesto politico, tipico delle nostre corde; inoltre, la costruzione di eventi sociali e culturali accompagna la progettualità politica. Qualsiasi attività e comportamento deve rispettare le attitudini della Cascina e del quartiere

Per continuare a portare avanti il più a lungo possibile questi progetti abbiamo bisogno del vostro aiuto!

Ecco altre attività con finalità sociali, formative, politiche, culturali e di autosostentamento che escono dalle logiche del mero profitto, ma vogliono restituire alla collettività un valore aggiunte:

• Pranzi e cene popolari, per costruire aggregazione sociale accessibile a tutti e tutte con modalità egualitarie.

• Feste nella piazza del quartiere, animare il contesto in cui ci troviamo è fondamentale per costruire relazioni virtuose ed affrontare i problemi materiali del quartiere.

• Musica live, offrire la possibilità a gruppi emergenti di usufruire degli spazi della Cascina per organizzare concerti, al di fuori della politica strettamente economica proposta da una parte dei locali.

• Rassegne cinematografiche, attraverso il laboratorio CineKap è possibile proporre presentazioni e rassegne, proiettandole nella sala adibita a cinema

• Ciclofficina popolare, un laboratorio dove imparare ad aggiustare la propria bicicletta in modo autonomo, grazie all'aiuto di volontari.

• Barbiere popolare, dare spazio a chi vuole accumulare esperienza nel settore mettendo a disposizione personale qualificato, su base volontaria.

• Bar e area relax, contribuisce totalmente alle entrate economiche del Collettivo, spazio libero che contorna le varie iniziative, dando luogo a momenti di convivialità privi di oppressione.

• Biblioteca/aula studio, luogo di libera informazione e confronto.

• Aperitivi in lingua, spazi dedicati per approfondire lingue diverse dall’italiano, anche attraverso incontri e scambi culturali.

• Autoproduzione agricola, grazie alla presenza del giardino, il piccolo orto offre stagionalmente supporto alla preparazione delle cene.

• Fisioterapia, momento dedicato ai bisogni fisioterapici del quartiere, con neo-laureati.

• Sportello lavoro, incontri pubblici sul tema del lavoro, formazione e consulenze su contratti e diritti.

Self-run Popular Farmstead Angelica “Cocca” Casile

We are a group of young people between 19 and 33 years old; we are students, workers, unemployed people or precarious. Some of us come from different political paths, while others have undertaken their first political activities with us. We are not connected to any party, nor trade union, committee or association; for this reason, we name ourselves “Popular Autonomous Kollective”. Our political thought has solid bases on mutual respect, and we are firmly convinced in the potentiality of self-organization. We are fully aware that one’s freedom ends where the freedom of someone else begins. Our activities often regard the examination of topics related to antiracism, antisexism and antifascism.

It is thought that Kascina Ponchia was built at the beginnings of 1900. Now, the propriety is owned by the Municipality, and until 2003 it was also a nunnery. Until 2003, many different projects were conceived for this building, but none of them were carried, so the Municipality decided to insert the structure in the “exclusion plan” of common allocations, also auctioning the building, without any results.

On the 13th December 2013, the building was occupied by the Popular Autonomous Kollective, and on the 10th February 2014 the city council ordered the eviction - and the consequent auctioning - of the building. But after many months of political activity, Kascina Ponchia has now been taken off the exclusion plan and destined to social use.

At the moment, Kascina is undergoing a difficult moment: the eviction order is still pending, and the structural renovation works realized by the Collective need support, in order to guarantee a future to our political activities.

“A Roof for Kascina” Campaign

Kascina Ponchia is an old farmstead with a lot of architectural value which can be observed in many details: it has frescoes on the facade, arched windows and vaulted ceilings in some of the ground floor rooms. The entire building has three floors: the first two are entirely used for and during our activities, and the same happens for the spacious front garden: the entire area covers 700 square metres. Therefore, the last floor cannot be used, and access to it is denied because of its structural failings.

In the last five years, we have had to renovate the building several times, to make it viable and safe after years of abandon and neglect. The building has a history of more than 100 years but – unfortunately – in the last few years a huge structural problem has emerged which could compromise the activities of the Collective group: the roof! For this reason, we have to undertake numerous interventions to repair a large hole, which is causing infiltrations and other structural problems. This is a list of the interventions which the Collective group has undertaken until now and which have been totally self-financed:

• Renovation and feasibility of all the sanitary services of the building;

• Substitution of the window glass fixtures with wood panels;

• Re-connection of electricity with a regular contract;

• Restoration of two roof stoves and purchase of gas stoves for the remaining rooms;

• Roof’s conditions expertise;

• Cleaning and pruning of the green areas with the addition of a tree;

• Fitting of a boiler for hot water;

• Painting of the walls by affirmed artists who have painted different graffitis

Political Planning and cultural meetings

At the heart of our activities – both inside and outside the Kascina - there is the development of many political issues, which are often connected with cultural and social ones. Our thoughts and our political actions enhance constructive pathways that produce real self-determination, both for individuals and for collectives; equality is an essential value, like redistribution and total absence of subordination.

Our horizon is political, cultural and social transformation, in deep opposition with those that sow hatred, discrimination and violence. We often organize the presentations of books/documentaries/ art expositions, to which we connect debates. Outside our space, we construct social networks with the neighbourhood and other citizen subjects of the city, in order to bring our initiatives to many different places, organizing aggregative moments, sit-ins and political demonstrations.

We continuously host the assemblies of other political groups, (for example, the Underground Collective) because we are firmly convinced that giving space to different political experiences can help us to build practices and grow wiser, giving back autonomy. Sometimes we also host assemblies undertaken by other projects such as the Bergamo Antifa United (a popular football team), APE Bergamo (a trekking association); BSA-Active Solidarity Brigade (a mutualism network), the 20K Project (which supports the transit of migrants), CSA Pacì Paciana and Antiracist Migrant Bergamo. We are firmly convinced that having opened an abandoned space is a strong political action. Therefore, the construction of social and cultural events goes with political planning. All kind of activities and behaviour must respect the aptitudes of the Kascina and of the neighbourhood in its totality.

These are other social activities that involve social, educational and cultural projects – which are not within profit mechanisms but, instead, they aim to give back to the collective some added values:

-Popular lunches and dinners, in order to build social aggregation;

-Parties and events in the neighbourhood’s public squares: we consider it very important to build relations with our neighbourhood and face material problems together;

-Live music: we offer the chance to emergent groups to use our spaces to organize concerts, in a different way in respect to the economic and political proposals of many public spaces of the city.

- Film projecting: CineKap is a cinema laboratory, where we offer the presentation and projection of many films;

-Popular bicycle garage, where you can learn how to repair your own bicycle, thanks to the help of our volunteers;

- Popular barber, thanks to the support of qualified professionals of this sector, we offer the possibility to learn how to become a barber;

-Bar and chill out; this space is a central part of our income; it is a free space in which people can live together without oppression;

- Library/study room; a place of free information and discussion between people;

- Linguistic happy hours, a moment when you can improve your knowledge of other languages different from Italian, through meetings and cultural exchanges.

- Agriculture self-production,our garden offers different agriculture products which are a support to the cooking of the dinners we organize

- Physiotherapy, a moment dedicated to the physical problems for the people of the neighbourhood offered by a qualified physiotherapist

- Job support, public meetings about job issues, with counselling about worker rights and contracts
