Il Gaza Freestyletornerà a Dicembre nella Striscia di Gaza per l'organizzazione e la partecipazione a due grandi eventi che si svolgeranno nella Striscia: l'inaugurazione del parco polifunzionale Green Hopes, a cui abbiamo contribuito negli scorsi anni con la costruzione della rampa da skate e del tendone da circo, e il Forum femminile e femminista organizzato dalle associazioni di Gaza.

Partiremo per inaugurare un'area su cui da diversi anni lavoriamo fianco a fianco con il Centro Italiano di Scambio Culturale - VIK e ACS e partiremo per partecipare ad un grande incontro che verrà costruito e si svolgerà insieme a tantissime donne e associazioni locali e che getterà le basi per la creazione dell'ambizioso progetto che muoverà i suoi primi passi durante la carovana di quest'anno: la Casa delle Donne di Gaza.

Cosa vogliamo realizzare?

Aiutaci a costruire uno spazio di confronto per le donne, dona ciò che puoi.

L'idea del Forum nasce dalla necessità di avere un confronto diretto e uno scambio collettivo che vada al di là delle barriere fisiche imposte alle gazawe. 

La tua donazione ci permetterà di aiutare le donne di Gaza nella costruzione del Forum femminile e femminista e l'avvio del progetto coordinato della Casa delle Donne a Gaza. Inoltre, donando al nostro progetto potrai partecipare attivamente all'inaugurazione del Green Hopes, il parco polifunzionale situato in una delle zone maggiormente colpite dai bombardamenti al confine nord della Striscia.

Il Gaza Freestyle si propone nel ruolo di coordinatore e mediatore per la raccolta fondi, ma saranno le associazioni locali a gestire interamente la giornata di inaugurazione e il forum.

Abbiamo però bisogno di un aiuto concreto per poter realizzare i nostri obiettivi: chiediamo perciò il supporto di tutta la nostra community, e di chiunque voglia sostenere le lotte di chi si occupa di femminismo, internazionalismo e Palestina.

ESSERE UNA DONNA A GAZA

Le donne che abbiamo conosciuto nella Striscia di Gaza hanno vissuto sulla loro pelle l’Inverno Caldo del 2008 e mantengono vividi nella memoria i ricordi delle ignobili operazioni militari israeliane susseguitesi negli anni, da Operazione Piombo Fuso a Operazione Margine di Protezione, sino agli ultimi attacchi di maggio 2021. Combattono per la liberazione della mente, del corpo e della Terra nella più grande prigione a cielo aperto del mondo. Resistono da quando sono nate ad una violenta dominazione che coinvolge ogni ambito della loro vita; al contempo continuano a battersi affinché all’interno di questa striscia di terra lunga poco più di 40 km vi siano le condizioni necessarie per una vita libera dalla cultura e dalla realtà patriarcale, estremamente violenta.

Un numero ancora troppo elevato di donne a Gaza subisce la fitta struttura di equilibri e leggi tradizionali che ne limita drasticamente la libertà. 

Abbiamo avuto l'onore di conoscere donne a Gaza che lottano da sempre per i propri diritti, per la loro emancipazione, autodeterminazione e indipendenza economica. Fronteggiano la violenza di genere creando reti di supporto psicologico e legale per le donne con situazioni familiari difficili; Lottano come giovani universitarie per il diritto allo studio per tutti e tutte, per una rappresentanza studentesca che sia anche femminile, per un welfare accademico degno ed accessibile; Lottano come infermiere e dottoresse per una sanità il più possibile a disposizione delle donne di Gaza, nonostante i limiti inimmaginabili causati da decenni di assedio, totale chiusura della Striscia di Gaza. Combattono in prima linea, curano i feriti, sostengono i percorsi psicologici necessari per affrontare i traumi di guerra e le sindromi da stress post traumatico che dilagano nella popolazione adulta, così come nei bambini.

Sono la Resistenza attiva della Palestina.

Il blocco e l'isolamento subito dalla popolazione impedisce al mondo di sapere cosa succede "tra le mura di Gaza". Spetta a noi, che oggi ne abbiamo la possibilità, rompere questo isolamento.

PERCHE' UN FORUM FEMMINILE E FEMMINISTA A GAZA

Decine di femminicidi ogni anno in Palestina, tra cui 12 casi di ragazze trovate uccise in modo innaturale solo a Gaza tra il '20/'21, ci rendono consapevoli che la lotta al patriarcato e alla violenza di genere non ha confini e non può rimanere relegata in una definizione meramente culturale. 

Cosi come affrontiamo questo problema nei nostri territori, vogliamo oggi un confronto con le donne di Gaza che da troppo tempo vivono isolate e dimenticate dal resto del mondo.

La società civile palestinese sta reagendo con forza, le donne scendono in piazza e gridano: “Non puoi liberare la terra senza liberare le donne”. Ed è su questi temi che vogliamo discutere insieme alle donne di Gaza nel nostro prossimo scambio culturale, per entrare a cuneo nella galera forzata di una storia che riguarda le donne di tutto il mondo.

Il patriarcato, prima di tutto, limita noi donne nel pensiero e nella nostra capacità di vedere possibili soluzioni alla subalternità a cui siamo costrette: riunirci tra di noi significa creare uno spazio che nessuna società regala alle donne; uno spazio di confronto, di scambio, di coltivazione dei rapporti e omaggio alle nostre lotte.

Vogliamo ricostruire prima di tutto il nostro desiderio, liberandoci dalle pressioni della società e rileggendo i nostri veri interessi e le nostre necessità. E se le donne di Gaza non possono uscire dalle mura fisiche imposte dallo stato di assedio, allora saremo noi a raggiungerle per affrontare insieme diverse tematiche:

- Donne e ambiente

- Istruzione e formazione delle donne

- Donne e salute

- Violenza contro le donne

- Donne e conflitto armato

- Donne ed economia

- Donne in ruoli decisionali

- Meccanismo istituzionale per la promozione delle donne

- Diritti umani delle donne

- Donne e media

A Gaza esistono decine di associazioni che si occupano di diverse questioni legate all'autodeterminazione della donna, con corsi di formazione e sportelli di aiuto psicologico. 

Stiamo creando una rete con le associazioni conosciute in questi anni per trovare un luogo che possa essere utile soprattutto per le giovani donne che vogliono fare sport, con la possibilità per coloro che coordineranno il progetto a Gaza di riempire lo spazio con le attività maggiormente richieste dalla popolazione.

Cerchiamo un luogo in cui nascerà una rampa da skate dove le bambine, le ragazze e le donne potranno esercitarsi e imparare.

CHI SIAMO

ll Gaza Freestyle nasce nel 2014 con l'obiettivo di supportare una popolazione martoriata da decenni di assedio e attacchi bellici. Promuoviamo l'autodeterminazione della donna e del popolo palestinese e diffondiamo messaggi di gioia, sorellanza e fratellanza. Il collante di questo lavoro sono discipline come lo skate, il calcio, il circo, la musica accessibili a uomini e donne, bambini e bambine.

Nel 2017 prende forma il Progetto Donne, in stretta collaborazione con le associazioni femminili e femministe della Striscia di Gaza e con il contributo di donne provenienti da diversi ambiti di formazione. 

Nel corso degli anni abbiamo collaborato e costruito insieme a centinaia di donne gazawe incontri, workshop, flash mob e dibattiti, alimentando lo scambio culturale necessario per sostenere la Resistenza palestinese. 

Abbiamo immaginato insieme un mondo libero da sistemi di sfruttamento e marginalizzazione: un mondo in cui i corpi delle donne - così come le terre - non siano terreno di conquista e battaglia. 

Prendendo spunto, forza e energia dalle donne incontrate in questi anni, coltiviamo una visione femminista intersezionale, internazionalista e de-coloniale. 

Grazie all'esperienza maturata negli anni e soprattutto alla costante collaborazione con il Centro Italiano di scambio Culturale Vittorio Arrigoni-VIK con sede a Gaza City, conosciamo il territorio e lo attraversiamo con consapevolezza.

ALTRI PROGETTI GFF IN PARTENZA:

• Progetto Arte: Professionisti di diverse città italiane scenderanno a Gaza per dipingere in collaborazione con scuole artistiche. Verrà raccolto materiale artistico come bombolette spray colorate, pitture e pennelli che porteremo poi con noi a Gaza a dicembre per le/i giovani artisti.

• Progetto Circo: Un gruppo di circensi romani partirà per Gaza per l'inaugurazione del tendone da circo al parco polifunzionale a nord della Striscia, il Green Hopes Gaza. Verrà raccolto materiale da circo per le scuole circensi di Gaza con cui collaboriamo da diversi anni.

• Gruppo Media: Il gruppo si occuperà di documentare le attività che si svolgeranno all'interno di Gaza durante le settimane del progetto. • Progetto Skate: Il gruppo farà sopralluoghi in diversi spazi a Gaza per la realizzazione della rampa da skate al chiuso per le ragazze e le bambine. Si occuperà anche dell'inaugurazione della rampa da skate che abbiamo completato l'estate scorsa al Green Hopes Gaza. Verrà raccolto materiale sportivo come tavole,  truck, rotelle e cuscinetti, rollerblade che porteremo poi con noi a Gaza per le giovani sportive.

Gaza Freestyle will return to the Gaza Strip in December for the organization and participation in two major events that will take place in the Strip: the inauguration of the multipurpose park Green Hopes, to which we have contributed in recent years with the construction of the skate ramp and the circus tent, and the Women and Feminist Forum organized by the associations of Gaza.

We will be inaugurating an area on which we have been working side by side for several years with the Italian Center for Cultural Exchange - VIK and ACS and we will be participating in a large gathering that will be built and held together with many women and local associations and that will lay the foundations for the creation of an ambitious project that will take its first steps during this year's caravan: the Gaza Women's House.

What do we want to realize?
Help us to build a space of confrontation for women, donate what you can.

The idea of the Forum was born from the need to have a direct dialogue and a collective exchange that goes beyond the physical barriers imposed on Gazawi women.

Your donation will allow us to help the women of Gaza in the construction of the Women's Feminist Forum and to start the coordinated project of the Women's House in Gaza. In addition, by donating to our project you will be able to actively participate in the inauguration of the Green Hopes, the multipurpose park located in one of the areas most affected by the bombings at the northern border of the Strip.

Gaza Freestyle proposes itself in the role of coordinator and mediator for the fundraising, but the local associations will entirely manage the inauguration day and the forum.

However, we need a concrete help to achieve our goals: we ask for the support of our community, and anyone who wants to support the struggles of those who deal with feminism, internationalism and Palestine.

BEING A WOMAN IN GAZA
Women we have met in the Gaza Strip have lived through the Hot Winter of 2008 and have vivid memories of the brutal Israeli military operations over the years, from Operation Cast Lead to Operation Margin of Protection, up to the latest attacks in May 2021. They fight for the liberation of their mind, body and Earth in the largest open-air prison in the world. They have been resisting since they were born to a violent domination that involves every area of their lives; at the same time they continue to fight so that within this strip of land, just over 40 km long, they can secure the necessary conditions for a life free from an extremely violent patriarchal culture.

Too many women in Gaza still suffer from the dense structure of social balances and traditional laws that drastically limit their freedom.

We have had the honor to meet women in Gaza who have always fought for their rights, for their emancipation, self-determination and economic independence. They stand up to gender-based violence by creating psychological and legal support networks for women with vulnerable family situations; they fight as young university students for the right to study for all, for a student representation that also allow female lead and participation, for a dignified and accessible academic welfare; they fight as nurses and doctors for a health care open for women needs in Gaza, despite the unimaginable limitations caused by decades of siege and total closure of the Gaza Strip. They fight on the front lines, they treat the wounded, they support the psychological paths necessary to deal with war trauma and post-traumatic stress syndromes that are rampant in the adult population, as well as in children.

They are Active Resistance of Palestine.

The blockade and isolation suffered by the population prevents the world from knowing what is happening "within the walls of Gaza". It is up to us, who have the opportunity today, to break this isolation.

WHY A WOMEN AND FEMINIST FORUM IN GAZA
Dozens of feminicides occur every year in Palestine, including 12 cases of girls found unnaturally killed in Gaza alone between '20/'21. They make us aware that the fight against patriarchy and gender violence has no boundaries and cannot remain relegated to a purely cultural definition.

Just as we face this problem in our territories, today we want a confrontation with the women of Gaza who have been living isolated and forgotten by the rest of the world for too long.

Palestinian civil society is reacting strongly, women are taking to the streets and shouting: "You can not free the land without freeing women. And it is on these issues that we want to discuss together with the women of Gaza in our next cultural exchange, in order to wedge in the forced jail of a story that affects women all over the world.

Patriarchy, first of all, limits us women in our thinking and in our ability to see possible solutions to the subalternity to which we are forced: coming together means creating a space that no society gives to women; a space for discussion, exchange, cultivation of relationships and homage to our struggles.

We want to rebuild foremost our desire, freeing ourselves from the pressures of society and re-reading our true interests and needs. And if the women of Gaza can't get out of the physical walls imposed by the state of siege, then we will be the ones to reach out to them to share thoughts on different issues together:

- Women and the environment

- Women's education and training

- Women and health

- Violence against women

- Women and armed conflict

- Women and economy

- Women in decision-making roles

- Institutional mechanism for the advancement of women

- Women's human rights

- Women and media

In Gaza there are dozens of associations that deal with various issues related to women's self-determination, with training courses and psychological help desks.

We are creating a network with the associations we have known in recent years to find a place that can be useful especially for young women who want to play sports, with the possibility for those who will coordinate the project in Gaza to fill the space with the activities most requested by the population.

We are looking for a place where a skate ramp will be created where girls and women can practice and learn.

WHO WE ARE
Gaza Freestyle was founded in 2014 with the aim of supporting a population tormented by decades of siege and warfare strikes. We promote the self-determination of women and the Palestinian people and spread messages of joy, sisterhood and brotherhood. Disciplines such as skateboarding, soccer, circus and music are bounding working tools for men and women, boys and girls.

In 2017 the Women's Project took shape, in close collaboration with women's and feminist associations in the Gaza Strip and with the contribution of women from different backgrounds.

Over the years we have collaborated and built together with hundreds of Gazawi women meetings, workshops, flash mobs and debates , fueling the cultural exchange necessary to help the Palestinian Resistance .

Together we have imagined a world free from systems of exploitation and marginalization: a world in which women's bodies - as well as land - are not ground for conquest and battle.

Drawing inspiration, strength and energy from the women we have met over the years, we cultivate an intersectional, internationalist and de-colonial feminist vision.

Thanks to the experience gained over the years and especially to the constant collaboration with the Italian Center for Cultural Exchange Vittorio Arrigoni-VIK based in Gaza City, we know the territory and we cross it with awareness.

OTHER GFF PROJECTS IN THE PIPELINE:

Art Project: Professionals from different Italian cities will come to Gaza to paint in collaboration with art schools. Artistic material will be collected such as colored spray cans, paints and brushes that we will bring with us to Gaza in December for the young artists.

Circus Project: A group of Roman circus performers will travel to Gaza for the inauguration of the circus tent at the multipurpose park north of the Strip, the Green Hopes Gaza. Circus material will be collected for the circus schools of Gaza with which we have been collaborating for several years.

Media Group: The group will be in charge of documenting the activities that will take place inside Gaza during the weeks of the project. Skate Project: The group will be surveying several spaces in Gaza for the construction of the indoor skate ramp for girls and young women. It will also work on the inauguration of the skate ramp we completed last summer at Green Hopes Gaza. We will collect sports equipment such as boards, trucks, wheels and bearings, rollerblades that we will then take with us to Gaza for the young sportswomen.
