VIAGGIANDO NEL CANTO DEGLI ALBERI

progetto di finanziamento in Crowdfunding di Edoardo Taori e Federica Zizzari.

Sulle tracce di Alberi Sacri, incontro a templi, antiche foreste, importanti civiltà.
Qual è il canto di alberi regali, la cui sacralità è riconosciuta anche dall'uomo moderno?
Questa è la domanda che ci spinge a preparare lo zaino e salire su un aereo.
40 giorni tra India e Nepal, per incontrare alcune tra le più autorevoli specie arboree di questi magici paesi.

Lo Scopo.

L'obiettivo è ritornare a casa con un tesoro: le registrazioni delle melodie degli alberi sacri che incontreremo. Per farne cosa? Un disco musicale in formato mp3, che verrà distribuito dall'etichetta indipendente Sostanze Records http://www.sostanzerecords.it e dal nostro blog www.contradalusci.com attraverso il FREE DOWNLAOD, ovvero sarà scaricabile ed ascoltabile GRATUITAMENTE.

Non ci saranno CD da comprare, ma libera musica da condividere e scambiare, composta da musicisti davvero speciali: gli Alberi dell'India e del Nepal.

Oltre a sorrisi e fiducia, porteremo con noi:
1 - un ponte di Wheatstone, uno strumento elettrico che ci permetterà di captare la melodia delle piante, tramite le variazioni di resistenza elettrica delle stesse.
2 - un computer, che ci servirà da registratore dei segnali MIDI e come sintetizzatore sonoro;
3 - una batteria portatile, per avere a disposizione la corrente elettrica anche all'interno di un'isolata foresta;

Registreremo la musica dalle piante in questo modo:
1. Il Ponte di Wheatstone è la parte più importante della nostra attrezzatura. In elettrotecnica è un dispositivo inventato da Samuel Hunter Christie e perfezionato da Charles Wheatstone nell'ottocento, per la misura precisa del valore di una resistenza elettrica. Con la nostra versione, chiaramente più moderna, ricaveremo le variazioni della corrente elettrica degli alberi attaccando un elettrodo ad una foglia ed un altro a terra vicino le radici dell'albero. Queste variazioni elettriche saranno trasformate in segnali MIDI (il MIDI è un linguaggio che il computer può usare per diversi fini e nel nostro caso per scrivere spartiti musicali).

2. Il computer registrerà i segnali MIDI creati dal Ponte di Wheatstone, in tempo reale li trasformerà in note musicali della scala temperata. Li registrerà come partiture musicali sul Piano Roll di Ableton Live e quando torneremo in Italia, questi spartiti musicali saranno trasformati in suoni come pianoforte, violino, percussioni o suoni elettronici, tramite sintetizzatori digitali. (Ableton Live è un programma professionale per la composizione e registrazione di suoni in studio e live)

3. La batteria portatile ricaricabile ad energia solare al litio di 12 volt, ci occorre per alimentare il Ponte diWheatstone. É assolutamente indispensabile poiché è impossibile trovare corrente elettrica nelle foreste indiane e nepalesi.

Cosa chiediamo attraverso Produzioni Dal Basso.

Un finanziamento di 3000 euro per poter pagare la produzione dell'opera musicale, le spese del viaggio, gli spostamenti interni tra India e Nepal, il cibo, gli alloggi e una persona che farà da guida nelle sconfinate valli orientali, per cercare i più antichi e saggi compositori dei boschi.

Perché finanziare il progetto?

Perché non conosciamo nessuno che finora sia andato in India e Nepal, per far comporre un disco ad esseri vegetali invece che uomini. Alberi millenari che hanno condiviso la loro vita con esseri umani speciali come Siddharta Gautama il Buddha, che proprio sotto un albero trovò l'illuminazione. Gli Alberi saranno i compositori di partiture per pianoforte, violini e suoni elettronici non convenzionali.

La scelta del luogo ricade su India e Nepal, per via della considerazione che nei secoli l'uomo, qui, ha avuto degli alberi. Vale la pena ricordare che nel 1737, ben 363 persone furono massacrate mentre abbracciavano i tronchi di una foresta sacra, nel tentativo di impedirne l'abbattimento ordinato dal Maharaja di Jodhpur. Nelle più importanti filosofie e religioni di questi paesi, (Buddhismo, Induismo, Giainismo), gli alberi sono considerati templi viventi, a cui vengono offerti cibo e preghiere, dimora di specifiche divinità.

Questa spedizione si propone quindi di far conoscere al mondo che è possibile avere una considerazione diversa dell'universo vegetale, troppo spesso diserbato, tagliato e bruciato senza alcun rispetto, come se non fosse vivo.
Vogliamo dar VOCE agli alberi attraverso la musica, l'arte, donando a tutta l'umanità le dolci melodie che gli alberi ci regaleranno. Dare quindi uno strumento in più alle persone meno consapevoli, aiutandole a comprendere come ci sia vita in tutto il creato.

Chi siamo.

Partiremo in due:

Kika, l'illustratrice del gruppo, disegnerà la copertina e i contenuti extra del disco. Federica Zizzari, in arte Kikosmica, si definisce una creatrice di bellezza: pittrice, disegnatrice, co-creatrice del progetto Contrada Lusci, conduttrice di laboratori creativi per bambini e adulti, agisce in Amore per MadreTerra. Attraverso l'Arte esplora e dà voce alle dimensioni spirituali.

Edoardo, il musicologo della spedizione, gestirà la strumentazione per captare le melodie dalle piante e lavorerà alla produzione del disco. Edoardo Taori, in arte IlKobra, fin da piccolo cerca di scoprire di cosa è fatta la realtà che lo circonda, nel tempo si appassiona alla composizione musicale ed attualmente studia le relazioni che il suono ha con gli esseri viventi.

TRAVELING IN THE SONG OF TREES

Project idea for Crowdfunding Edoardo Taori, Federica Zizzari.

The project idea:

What is the song of trees, the sacredness of which is also recognized by modern man?
This is the question that drives us to prepare our backpacks and get on a plane.
We would like to spend 40 days travelling around India and Nepal in order to meet some of the most prominent tree types of these magical countries.

The aims of the project.

The main goal is to back home with a treasure : the sound tracks of the melodies of sacred trees that we will meet.
For what? To produce a disc of music in mp3 format, which will be distributed by the independent Sostanze Records and also shared on our blog www.contradalusci.com completely downloadable and playable for FREE.

There will be no CD to buy, but free sharing and exchaning music composed by musicians really special: Trees of India and Nepal.

As a tools, we will bring with us in addition to smiles and trust, the following objects:
1 - a Wheatstone bridge: this is an electrical instrument that will allow us to capture the melody of plants, through changes in electrical resistance of the same.
2 - a computer: it will use as recorder and MIDI signals as sound synthesizer;
3 - a portable battery: in order to have electricity available even within an isolated forest;

We will record the music from the plants in this way:
1 . The Wheatstone bridge is the most important part of our equipment . In electrical engineering is a device invented by Samuel Hunter Christie , and perfected by Charles Wheatstone during the nineteenth century , in order to measure the value of electrical resistance.
Thanks to our Wheatstone we will capture the variations of the electric current of the trees by attaching an electrode to a leaf, and another on the ground near the roots of the tree. These changes will be transformed into electrical signals MIDI (MIDI is a language that the computer can be used for different purposes and in our case to write musical scores).

2 . The computer will record the MIDI signals created by the Wheatstone bridge , in real-time turn them into musical notes of the scale. Register them as musical scores on the Piano Roll of Ableton Live and when we return to Italy , these scores will be transformed into musical sounds such as piano , violin , percussion and electronic sounds via digital synthesizers. (Ableton Live is a professional program for the composition and sound recording studio and live)

3 . The lithium laptop battery to 12 volts is essential to feed the Wheatstone bridge . It is absolutely essential because it is impossible to find electrical current in the Indian forests and Nepalese.

What we ask to “Produzioni dal basso”

A loan of 3000 euro to pay the following costs:
production of the musical work, costs of travel, small travelling around India and Nepal, food, accomodation, and a person who will guide us into the endless eastern valleys to look for the ancient and wise composers of the woods.

Why fund the project?

Because this is an innovative artistic project about music and trees. Maybe the first. We don’t know anyone who has gone so far in India and Nepal, in order to compose a disc to vegetable beings rather than men.
Ancient trees that have shared their lives with humans in particular Siddhartha Gautama Buddha. Trees are the composers of music for piano, violin and electronic unconventional sounds.

We choose our destination in India and Nepal because over the centuries the man , there , love the trees.
For example, in 1737, 363 people were massacred while hugging the trunks of a sacred forest in order to prevent the demolition ordered by the Maharaja of Jodhpur.

The most important philosophies and religions of these countries ( Buddhism , Hinduism, Jainism ) consider the trees as living temples , which are offered food and prayers , home to specific deities . This expedition is proposed to let the world know that you can have a different view of the universe vegetable, weeded , cut and burned with no respect , as if it were alive .

We want to give VOICE to the trees through music, art, giving to all humankind the sweet melodies that trees will give us . Then give one more tool to people less aware , helping them to understand that there is life in all creation.

Who we are?

Our staff is composed by 2 persons:
Kika, the illustrator of the group, will design the cover and the extra content of the disc. Federica Zizzari (nickname: Kikosmica) describe herself as creator of beauty: she is painter, illustrator, co- creator of the project Contrada Lusci , manage creative workshops for children and adults. Through art, she try to explore and to give voice to the spiritual dimensions.
Edoardo, the musicologist of the expedition, will manage the instrumentation to capture the melodies from the plants and he will work on the production of the disc. Edoardo Taori (Nickname: IlKobra) since he was a child, try to find out what it is made of the reality that surrounds him, over time developed a passion for music composition and is currently studying the relationship that sound has with living beings.
