The art performance “The F Word“ seeks to explore personal and existential fears in an interactive scenario through a common language expressed by art.

Fear is a constant companion through everyone's life. We become afraid of strangers, of the unexpected, of the future. By confronting our fears and finding people who share them, we might be able to accept and perhaps overcome them. The hardest part consists in sharing them: might art help us? What happens if we share fears through art?

The F Word is a free art event, taking place at Carrozzerie n.o.t. in the evening of December 14th 2017 from 7pm till 11pm. During this evening, artists selected through a public call will showcase their artworks and performances related to the concept of fear. The performances will involve a variety of media such as storytelling, dance, photography, sound and/or video. A physical and virtual box called “fear-box” will be created where people can write and share fears in small letters.

The goal is to bring together the audience and the artists to explore our deepest fears in an artistic scenario.

The F Word is a contemporary art event organized as the final project of the Masters in Arts Management course held at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome.

Your donation will help us realize this project and provide the best possible support to upcoming artists for creating an exciting artistic performance, as well as an opportunity for young art managers to deliver a show that can engage the audience with a new interpretation of fear.

We represent a group of young arts managers coming from all over the world: Armenia, Austria, China, Italy, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. Combining different backgrounds and cultural visions, we aim to provide an original and new perspective to spark Rome’s cultural scene.

La  performance artistica "The F Word" mira ad esplorare le paure personali ed esistenziali in modo interattivo, usando il linguaggio comune dell'arte.

La paura è una compagna costante nella vita di ognuno. Siamo spaventati dall’ignoto, dall’inaspettato, dal futuro. Confrontando i nostri timori e condividendoli con altri, potremmo essere in grado di accettarli benevolmente e forse di superarli. La parte più difficile, è appunto condividere questo sentimento. Cosa succederebbe se lo facessimo attraverso l'arte?

The F Word è un evento artistico che si svolgerà presso Carrozzerie n.o.t. il 14 dicembre 2017 dalle 19.00 fino alle 23.00. Durante questa serata gli artisti, selezionati tramite una call pubblica, mostreranno le loro opere e performance legate al concetto di paura. Le performance coinvolgeranno una varietà di media, dallo storytelling alla danza passando per la fotografia, la musica e la video art. Una “fear-box” fisica e virtuale sarà a disposizione dei visitatori che potranno condividere le proprie paure in forma di lettera.

L'obiettivo è quella di riunire pubblico e artisti per esplorare ed affrontare i nostri timori più profondi in uno scenario artistico.

The F Word è un evento di arte contemporanea organizzato come progetto finale del Master in Arts Management, tenuto presso lo IED di Roma. Il tuo aiuto ci aiuterà a realizzare questo progetto e a fornire agli artisti il miglior supporto possibile per la creazione delle loro performance.

L’evento rappresenta inoltre un’opportunità per giovani arts manager: creare uno spettacolo che possa coinvolgere il pubblico attraverso una nuova interpretazione della paura.
